YOUR DONATION HELPS IGNITE THE DREAMS OF YOUNG WOMEN

Live Your Dream assists women who provide the primary source of financial support for their families by giving them the resources they need to improve their education skills and employment prospects.

The Violet Richardson Award honors young women between the ages of 13 and 19 for volunteer work in fighting drugs, crime, violence, bullying, cleaning up the environment, and/or working to end discrimination and poverty.

The award is named after Violet Richardson, the president of the first Soroptimist club in Alameda County in 1921. Richardson believed in personal responsibility and the motto, “It’s what you do that counts.”  Soroptimist established this award to honor the memory of this unique woman and her dedication to volunteer action.

Dream It, Be It targets girls in secondary school who face obstacles to their future success, helping them to grow to be strong, successful, happy adults. The program provides girls with access to professional role models, career education, and the resources to live their dreams. Soroptimist International of Lincoln has identified an unmet need at Lincoln High School and delivered the Dream It, Be career exploration program. We are expanding the program to Twelve Bridges and Phoenix High School this April.
